The "Cretan Corner"
Traditional Cretan Products in Maleme, Chania
Odysseas Elytis, born in 1911 in Heraklion, Crete, was one of the most important Greek poets. He once said: “If you disintegrate Greece, in the end you will see that you are left with an olive tree, a vineyard and a boat. Which means: with so much more you can rebuild it. “
In “Kritiki Gonia”, not only do we continue the work of our grandfather, but we are inspired by our great poet, and we make sure that in our store there are only exceptional Cretan products, made by small producers, with emphasis on quality and not quantity.

Olive cultivation by the Hnari and Paparaftaki family
The olive cultivation of the Hnari family started about 300 years ago, where our great-great-grandparents were one of the first inhabitants of the village of Leventochori, which was later renamed Livadia. The liophytes of our family are located in the wider area of the village of Omala.
Omala is a small village in the prefecture of Rethymno, which is about 43 km from the city of Rethymnon.
