IMPORTANT – Changes in French VAT Rules (Effective January 1, 2022)

French Customs Authorities have introduced Postponed VAT Accounting (PVA) for businesses importing into France.

📌 Key Updates:

• Businesses must have a French VAT number.
• Non-EU businesses must appoint a Fiscal Representative for VAT processing.
• The importer (not DHL) is now responsible for VAT payment.

📦 To ensure fast customs clearance, businesses must provide:
✅ French VAT number
✅ EORI number (Economic Operators Registration & Identification)
✅ Business Information (Name, Address, Contact Details)

⚠️ If no Importer of Record details are provided, DHL will process shipments under the receiver’s name for customs clearance.
